FAQs

The Dreambaby® Broadway Xtra-Wide & Xtra-Tall Gro-Gate® is designed to help families create a defined barrier across wider openings where a standard baby gate may not fit. Measuring 36 in (91 cm) tall and adjustable to fit openings from 30–53 in (76–134.5 cm), this hardware-mounted child safety gate is a versatile option for doorways, hallways and other larger spaces around the home.

The clever expandable design allows you to adjust the gate width without purchasing separate extensions, helping create a streamlined installation across a range of openings. Sturdy metal construction, convenient adult operation and two-way opening make it easy to incorporate into your family's everyday routine.

What size opening does the Broadway Xtra-Wide & Xtra-Tall gate fit?

The gate adjusts to fit openings from 76–134.5 cm (30–53 in) and stands 91.4 cm (36 in) tall. Its expandable design lets you set the width within this range without separate extensions. Measure your opening before installation.

How is the Broadway gate installed?

The gate is hardware-mounted using screw-fixed fittings. Attach it to suitable, structurally sound surfaces according to the included instructions. When mounting to plasterboard, fix into the timber stud behind it rather than the plasterboard alone.

Can the Broadway gate be used on stairs?

Yes. At the top of stairs, position it on the landing 15 cm (6 in) back from the top step, never below the top landing level. Set the gate to open away from the stairs. At the bottom, position it at the front of the lowest possible step. Follow all included stair-installation instructions.

How do adults open the Broadway gate?

The Track-It mechanism allows adults to release, lift and glide the gate open with one hand. It offers two-way opening, with a one-way stopper when you need to restrict the direction. After closing, check that the locking mechanism is engaged; the EZY-Check indicator provides a visual reference.

Does the gate have a bar across the floor?

No. The Broadway has no base bar across the opening, leaving a clear pathway when the gate is open. This makes everyday passage convenient without a threshold to step over.
