What is a hip seat carrier, and how is the Up & Go different from a traditional baby carrier?

A hip seat carrier is a supportive seat worn around your waist that gives your child a place to rest while you hold them. Unlike a traditional carrier with shoulder straps and a fabric panel supporting your child’s body, the Up & Go supports their weight while you keep an arm around them. It’s practical for little ones who frequently want to be picked up and put down, with storage pockets and a drink bottle holder for outings.

What age and weight range is the Up & Go suitable for?

The Up & Go offers a cradle position from newborn and a hip seat position from around 5 months, once your baby can sit upright independently. It is suitable for children weighing 3.5–18 kg (8–40 lb), up to approximately 3 years old.

Do I need to hold my child while using the hip seat?

Yes. The Up & Go helps support your child’s weight, but it is not a hands-free carrier and does not secure your child independently. Position your child centrally with their bottom on the non-slip seat, and keep both arms around them throughout use. Before each use, check that the waistband and buckle are securely fastened and the seat fits firmly against your waist.

Is the waistband adjustable?

Yes. The wide waistband adjusts up to 152 cm (60 inches), helping you achieve a snug, comfortable fit. It also provides lumbar support while you carry your little one.

How do I clean the Up & Go hip seat carrier?

Unzip the seat compartment and remove the insert, then hand wash the fabric in warm water with mild detergent and line dry. Do not bleach, iron or dry clean.
